Historical Society Meetings (Posted: 05-04-10) If any Historical Society wants to hold a meeting during the Convention, a representative of the group should contact Jeff Boock at clinics@30ngconvention.org with the time, date and number of people attending so he can arrange for meeting space. Since the clinic rooms are fully booked these society meetings will have to be scheduled during the afternoons. We will advertise the meeting times and locations in the Convention Timetable which you will receive in your registration package.

The eight layouts described and illustrated in this installment are located in mid-Missouri and are slightly less than two hours from the Convention hotel. The five page article, written by Tom Troughton, highlights his "Sn3 - Cimarron & Tall Timbers," John Waite's "Sn3 - Tweetsie," Rich Severance's, "On3 - Colorado Lines," Roger Duffield's "Sn3 - Umcompahgre Subdivision - D&RGW," Hal Shaffer's "On3 - D&RGS," and Mike Van Hove's "HO - Colorado Midland" railroads. John Scherr's "HOn3 - RGS" and Allen Pollock's "1:20.3 Clear Creek & Quicksilver" layouts are in their early stages of construction but plan to be open for visitors |

Hands-On / Extra Fee Clinics added to Convention (Posted: 01-26-10) We've scheduled four Hands-on/Extra Fee clinics for the Convention. Some will be offered during the morning session but more of them will take place during the afternoon time slot. Check out the Clinic Page for more detailed information. Briefly, the topics are: -- Figure Painting -- -- Weathering Wood -- -- Building a Turnout -- -- Building a Small Line Side Yard Office -- The important thing to remember about these clinics is they are limited in attendance so don't wait too long to sign up for them.
Home Layout Tours Featured In RMC Magazine (Posted: 01-20-10) Subscribers to "Railroad Model Craftsman" magazine are currently receiving the February 2010 issue that contains the first of several articles featuring a look at the layouts that will be open for the Convention. Gary Hoover writes about three layouts, Herb Koenig's HO/HOn3 Cordite and Flat River, Chuck Graham's HO/HOn3 D&RGW - Fourth Division and his own Santa Fe in 1951 . Those of you who don't subscribe may wish to get a copy at your local hobby shop or closest magazine display.
Use Your Paypal Account (Posted: 01-13-10) It's now possible for those of you who wish to use Paypal for your Convention Registration and merchandise purchases. The only requirement is that you must print out the appropriate registration form, fill it in and add up the amounts. Then just click the "Pay Now" button that appears on the Registration Page to reach the Paypal payment page. It's as simple as that.
Home Layout Page Update (Posted: 01-13-10) We've added several photos to Rich Rand's "Mineral & South Fork Railway / Consolidated Mining & Smelting Railway." This large On30/On20 layout follows a turn-of-the-century theme and features outstanding trackwork and several scratchbuilt structures.
Another Home Layout Added To Tours (Posted: 01-13-10) Even though it's a standard gauge layout on a Narrow Gauge Convention Home Tours list, this one is a "must see." Vic Smith's "City Edge" layout was featured in the recent "Great Model Railroads - 2010" publication. The layout main scene is an outstanding representation of a 1980s to present time city.
